"Every little bit helps." All monies sent to
Exist Kind go towards sustaining the
production of the television show and
acquiring materials and resources to
maintain and launch community outreach
projects. Examples of expenses are the
printing of flyers, food for our crew and
guests, and fuel used to drive to meeting
places and project sites.
We started out as an Access Tucson
television show with the goal of eventually
expanding into a more proactive
organization, as we want to do more than
merely transmit information. We are
beginning to involve more of the
community in some of these lesser-known
efforts, such as dog rescue. We have
taken charge of the Tucson Dog Rescue
Meetup, where we meet and greet with
our pets and discuss ways to improve
efforts to rescue stray dogs. We are
currently circulating a petition with the
goal of getting 10,000 signatures so that
we may present it to City Council to
propose legislation for spaying and
neutering of all pets sold for profit.
Another project begun recently is the
cleanup of Redington Pass. In order to
keep the popular pass open as a free and
public shooting range, we felt that a
cleanup of spent shells and other litter
was in order. Plus, most importantly,
nearby livestock and wildlife would be
much better off for it because they would
be spared the pollution given off by this
debris, which would make its way through
the food chain and back to people one
way or another. Lastly, one more project
that has had some difficulty getting off of
the ground due to the economy is
outreach to disenfranchised members of
our indigenous population. The citizens of
such native lands as Black Mesa and Pine
Ridge live in Third-World conditions or
even worse right here in our United States
and we want to reach out to them through
a combination of charitable efforts and
stimulating local enterprises.
The more projects we publicize and
support, the more money we will be
spending out-of-pocket. We are now at
the point where we are ready to begin
reaching out for donations to our audience
and to those people who perhaps don't
know us as well but may be potentially
interested. We hope that you find Exist
Kind to be a worthwhile investment, and it
